A Little About MyselfI received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and obtained my Teacher Certification for grades K-5 at William Paterson University. Currently, I am attending Fairleigh Dickinson University for my Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy. Having been an educator since 2005, has been one of the greatest gifts I feel that I can share with young children and their families. I feel such an extreme amount of joy when I am able to teach children, and see them begin to grasp the important concepts being conveyed - be it something that is tangible, an educational concept, or a newly learned "life skill." Through instructional sessions, as well as everyday communication and involvement, my students and I have built a lasting bond that helps to promote a positive self image, strong character, responsibility, and confidence that will help the students to achieve their goals.

STEM Grades 6-7
STEM: an acronym for SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, and MATHEMATICS
STEM FOCUS:
When the students work on STEM problems, they will practice a way to think clearly about problem-solving. This way of thinking is called the Engineering Design Process. The students have been learning about the Engineering Design Process, and its importance in working their way through a STEM challenge, as well as, every day challenges they may face. Furthermore, the students have been focusing on building their Team Building skills by working collaboratively in groups on different STEM challenges.
Gifted and Talented Grades 2-6
New Year’s Activity –
The students completed a quick activity to get them in a positive mindset and motivated for the new year that is upon us. They wrote about their goals and aspirations for 2020. Projects were displayed in the cafeteria for all to see.
GT 2 Writing Bootcamp -
The students are focusing on their writing skills. Each time we have class, the students are given a writing prompt for their journal entry. This month, we continue to review how to set up our journal entries, so that the students can stay organized. As a class, we brainstormed about the topic together and reviewed correct paragraph structure. The students then wrote independently in their journals, reviewed their work, and then shared their writing with the class. The students will be able to use their Writing Journals to monitor and see their growth throughout the school year.
Career Research Project -
The students have begun a research project focusing on a career/job choice that they are interested in learning about. The project will culminate with the students making a poster that displays the information about their career choice. So far, the students' are having a great time learning about themselves and their career!
Basic Skills Instruction Grade 6-8 ELA, Grade 8 Math
Push In Support - The BSI students work independently and with guidance from me when needed to help improve their understanding of the material being learned.

STEM Grades 6-7
STEM: an acronym for SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, and MATHEMATICS
- These hands-on collaborative processes allow students to communicate, share ideas, and design their own inventions through experimentation.
- The best part about STEM is that every project allows for multiple right answers and approaches.
- Throughout the STEM process, teams act on their own ideas, try out different approaches, make mistakes, learn from their mistakes, and then try again.
- Students must understand that failure is considered a positive step on the way to discovering a solution to the given task or problem.
